Private/Public....

Soooo.......

I have wanted to make the blog private for a while.  I just felt uncomfortable having strangers read about my kids.  I finally did it and was giving myself high fives.  Then Adam came home and said he thought it was silly and that I shouldn't care if a few strangers read it - what's the harm?  Now other people who might want to read it won't be able to.  True...but they could ask to be invited.

Then, a certain person who shall remain nameless (Hey Mom!) said they couldn't figure out how to log in.  After explaining that it really isn't that hard, she was still having trouble so she gave up.

Then, I got an email from Tiny Prints about hosting a promotion on my blog which I cannot do if I am a private blog :(

Then I started having second thoughts about my decision.

So, my plan is to leave it private for now, but it may be (probably will be) public again soon.  I am officially the most wishy-washy person ever....maybe second after my three year old :)   Is it crazy that I feel paranoid having the blog public?  I know that 99% of the readers are my friends and family anyway but I still feel a little creeped out by the random readers.  Adam says it's not weird, it's just called being a woman.  ha

Funny Girl

Caroline is so funny and I want to remember all these adorable things she says at this age...so here goes another "Caroline-isms" post:

Caroline LOVES Ann Parker about 99% of the time.  She is always giving her hugs and kisses and telling her how cute and "awesome" she is.  But that 1% of the time, she wants to knock AP down.  We will send Caroline to time out and then try to talk to her about it.  When we ask why she pushed Ann Parker down, she usually replies with "Because I love her."

She wrote another new song and it basically just says this over and over for about 10 minutes, "You are not to break it!!"  It was inspired by me telling her to be careful not to break it (a picture frame).  She loves to use AP's keepsake rattle as a stand in microphone for these songs.

After leaving VBS one day last week she started to cry.  When I asked her what was wrong she said, "I just need Jesus and Sydney!"

Each night she sleeps with a lovie, a stuffed pink bear, a stuffed Mickey doll, a stuffed Goofy doll, and a bean bag Donald doll.  When she wakes up and comes into our room in the middle of the night she usually wakes us up and says, "Go get my little buddies."  As in - she wants us to go get all the stuffed animals and bring them into our bed too...nice try Caroline.  Back to bed you go.

She loves babies!  Now that AP isn't really a baby anymore she has started asking us for another baby.  She wants a baby brother and she wants to name him Stanley.  Sometimes she will talk to my stomach and say hi to Stanley.  She will also tell me how excited she is that Uncle Trey Trey will come spend the night when we go to the doctor to have baby Stanley.

One of her favorite activities is to go to Target and ride the "es-qual-a-tor"

When she does something she knows she shouldn't do, she will look at us and come put her hands on our face and give us the sweetest smile and say, "Don't be mad.  You are the best girl ever!."  Sometimes it works on us...

Sometimes Adam or I will start to sing her a song to get a laugh but we are usually met with, "Ssshhhhhh!  Ann Parker is trying to go to sleep!"  A lot of the time that isn't true, she just doesn't want to hear us sing.

We have been talking about moving in the not so distant future.  She will often hear us say things like, "In the next house I want ___" or "I don't want ___ in the next house."  She's been giving us her list as well.  We drove by the Shades Valley YMCA and could see the pool and the big water slide.  As we drove by she said, "I want that to be my new house.  I like that playground."

If you ask her what she is going to be when she grows up she says a giant.  Way to aim big!!

That's all I've got for now!

Happy Birthday Little Prince!!

Today the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to their little baby boy!  It is a gloomy, rainy day here so we decided to stay inside.  I had planned on making a cake with Caroline, but I thought it would be fun to make it a birthday cake and have a little party in honor of the new prince.

We started off making homemade lemonade.  I am seriously addicted and I thought it would be delicious a good addition to the party.  It was fantastic, although a big pain to juice all the lemons by hand.

Then we made a cake!  Caroline had been dying to make the funfetti cake.  She was a little disappointed that there wasn't actual cake in the box, but she still had fun.

Then we changed into our party gear...London t-shirts that my mom got for them last time she was in London.  Yes, I am that dorky.

Who is excited about the new prince???

We sang happy birthday, ate cake, drank lemonade, had horrible sugar headaches (really that was just me), played "party games" aka puzzles, coloring, and dancing, and then finished up the day with some laundry.  We sure know how to party, huh?

Silly, yes, but it sure was fun having a party with my two favorite little girls!

Fifteen Months Old!!!

Fifteen Months Old - July 20, 2013

My little girl is now 15 months old!!  She is become more and more toddler like each day, although there is still plenty of sweet little baby left in her.  She is still a smaller little girl.  We will go in for her 15 month visit next week so we will have stats then to see exactly how small.  She is still wearing a size 3 diaper, a size 2 shoe, and anywhere from 9 month to 18 month clothes depending on how they run.  She has cut several teeth this month and now has 12 teeth, although most are not fully in.

Her vocabulary has taken off - much quicker than Caroline's did at this age.  Caroline was much more physical at this age, but I am not complaining about that!  Ann Parker can say several words and will repeat a lot of what we say.  This isn't everything but here are some things she says consistently:
hi
bye
cheese
cookie
cracker
cupcake
banana
cheerio
doggy
Daisy
mommy
daddy
sissy
catch
up
eye
nose
that
look
no
go

She can identify many body parts including eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head, and tummy.  She knows several animals and even some animal sounds.  She makes the "mmmmaaaa" sound when giving kisses or blowing kisses.  She mimics a lot of things we do like holding things up to her ear and saying hi, holding books correctly and "reading", putting on makeup, holding and feeding her babies, among other things.

She loves music and dancing!  One of her favorite things to do is play with her instruments.  She also loves puzzles, books, baby dolls, anything that is Caroline's (especially the kitchen/play food and the dollhouse and princess castle).  We don't watch much tv around here anymore so she really doesn't have favorite shows but she likes the opening song to Chuggington and will watch a Team Umizoomi or Mickey occasionally.

She spent this last week in the nursery at church while C and I did VBS.  She loved it!!  We are so excited about her starting PDO this fall.  I know that she is going to love it and I am really hoping we will be able to add more days.

She is still a great eater and will eat most of what we give her.  Her favorites are eggs, strawberries, broccoli, most things that are sweet, french fries, corn, black beans, bananas, and cheese. She is still taking soy milk.  I wasn't completely convinced that she is actually lactose intolerant until I tried giving her dairy milk several weeks ago.  She was up all night with stomach cramps.  She kept tensing her abdomen and screaming.  As long as we stick to the soy or lactaid and limit the amount of cheese she eats, she does very well.

She is such a happy little girl and we just love her little personality.  She is funny and tries to make us laugh - which she does well.  She is one of my favorite little people in the whole world!!  Caroline turned 15 months on the 23rd of the month and less than a week later we found out we were expecting Ann Parker.  I look at AP now and still see a little baby.  It's hard to imagine being pregnant again with a child this young!!  I am loving this age and really want to enjoy her being my "baby" before we have baby #3 one day.  Although let's be honest, do they ever stop being our "babies"??

Happy 15 months sweet girl!  We love you so much and are so proud of the little girl you are.

Send me your email!

My project for this weekend is to FINALLY upload all the email address into the blog so I can take my blog private.  I meant to do this over a month ago, but alas...I got lazy.  I am (or used to be before I had two kids and lost a lot of free time) a big blog stalker, so please don't feel strange asking to be included.  I totally get it!  The blog may not stay private permanently, but I think it's the right thing to do now.  I already have a lot of email addresses, but if I wouldn't have yours please let me know that you want to keep reading by commenting on this post or emailing me at emilydisrael@gmail.com. I plan to do this on Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks for reading about our precious family!

Kingdom Rock

This week is Vacation Bible School at Trinity.  Since I am teaching, Caroline gets to participate in the the young 3's class.  She gets to do everything that all the other VBS kids do, except she doesn't go to the opening and closing.  We all woke up bright and early to get ready to go!  Caroline got her shirt once she arrived.

The theme is Kingdom Rock: Where Kids Stand Strong for God.  I am teaching a second grade class, the Yellow Dragons.  Caroline is a Blue Jester and Ann Parker is representing the Israel family in the nursery.

My second grade group is super sweet!  I am really enjoying this age group.  The whole day went off without a hitch - except I noticed that my jeans had a hole in the them about half way through the day.  I had been walking around with a large hole RIGHT ON MY BOTTOM!!!  Luckily I could pull the shirt down to cover it, but it looks like I will be shopping this weekend :)

We were all exhausted after our day and came home to rest.  So excited about the rest of the week!!

Learning to write

Caroline is learning to write her name!!  She can correctly identify all of the letters in her name and will point out her name when she see's it.  We decided it would be a good time to start to learn how to write it this summer!  We started with C's - obviously.  She has got the shape of the letter, she just draws it backwards.  She is doing great!!  What a little smartie pants!

Original Song by Caroline

This is the song that Caroline wrote for me this morning:

"You have to be warm.
You have to be warm.
You have to be brave.
Brave, brave, brave, brave.
You have to be brave.
There is no time to be a kitten."

Busy Weekend!

The Israel family had a busy, busy weekend.  I feel like I need another weekend to recover from last weekend.  At least it's a holiday week, so it's not quite as long.  Adam had to travel back to Montgomery last Wednesday to give closing statements in the trial he has been working on.  By Thursday afternoon he was headed home!  He took Friday and Monday off of work and we were so glad he was here!!  We spent Friday being fairly lazy.  We did some laundry and some cleaning and went to eat lunch at The Club.  We had a friend over to watch a movie that night.  I stayed up until 1:00 - which if you know me it quite an accomplishment.  I have actually fallen asleep mid-conversation with people past 11:00.  On Saturday, we got up and packed for the day and headed to the lake with some of our favorite friends.  There were about 10 kids and 15 adults.  It was so much fun - and I didn't take a single picture.  Boo.  We drove home that evening, grabbed the biggest and cheesiest pizza we could find, ate, and went to bed by 9:00.  We woke up again on Sunday and drove to Haleyville to visit with Adam's family.  One of his cousins was in town from Texas with her little girls plus several of his aunts and uncles.  All of the 4 children (Adam's dad and his siblings) plus 5 out of the 8 grandchildren were present as well as 6 out of the 15 great grandchildren.  It was quite a crowd!!

I didn't take many pictures on my camera and only a few on instagram.  Here are my silly girls running around Mimi and Papa's yard.  These girls love to play outside...and they are never still.

AP is into undressing her babies these days.

C was going nuts over that tiny green soccer ball.

We stayed until Monday afternoon and then drove home.  We got home in time to grab some Steel City Pops (totally necessary), grab some dinner (yes, dinner after popsicles), come home, bathe, and go to bed.  I was so exhausted, but thankfully I started the week on Tuesday and Thursday is a holiday.
