So Thankful

Our power is finally back on!! After nearly four days without power, we are finally up and running at our house. We weren't supposed to get power back until Thursday so this is very much a welcomed surprise!

Having no power was certainly not fun - we have to throw out all our food in the freezer and refrigerator, we haven't been able to wash clothes, watch tv, charge our cell phones, or even get a cold glass of water. The good news is that that is the worst we had to deal with. Our house is fine and we are safe. So many people lost so much. I am so thankful that we are fine, but I'm also so sad for our state.

If you can, please donate any supplies to the relief efforts. Needed items include:
diapers, baby wipes, trash bags, canned food, toiletry items, plastic bags, tarps, blankets, rain gear, etc. Several churches and other organiztions are taking up donations and I will be more than happy to pick up anything and bring it to a donation site. Even though we have to fill up our empty refrigerator, we will buying food for others today - for those who weren't as lucky as us.

Also, here's a site where you can donate money to the Red Cross:

I have lots of new things to post (Easter, 11 month birthday, and several more!) so stay tuned.

No more nap

Why nap when you can play with some fun toys?? Caroline thought that her sing-a-ma-jigs should join her, so she somehow knocked that basket off the shelf. The basket is now looking for a new home.

She's pretty proud of herself...

Funny Face

This is the new funny face that C likes to make.

It usually happens right after she crawls up to a new toy. It is so stinkin funny.

Happy Birthday Raughley!!! (and my first sewing project)

Happy Birthday to one of Caroline's best friends, Raughley!! He turns 2 this week and we were so excited to help celebrate last weekend at his party. He had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. I know how much C loves the mouse, so I decided to make her a dress to wear. I got a new sewing machine for Christmas so it was time to put it to good use. Check out this adorable dress!! (It's more adorable if you don't get too close)

It's far from perfect, but it's a start!! I can't wait to make her some more adorable things.

She looked great in it, even if she spent most of the time pulling out R's toys.

She's been standing by herself like that all the time lately!!

Other than making a big mess, Raughley's party was full of firsts for Caroline. She got to try some birthday cake!! I figured I'd let her try a couple of bites so she'd be excited at her own birthday party. She loved it! She pretty much ate an entire slice by herself. She's going to be like her mama and have a serious sweet tooth! She also went in a bouncey house for the first time. She loved that as well. It was such a fun day for her.

Happy Birthday Raughley!! We love you and hope you had a wonderful day! Adam and I are hoping that C takes after me and marries a man 13 months older than her and luckily Raughley fits that requirement :)

Squeaky Clean

I love when Caroline gets out of the dishwasher...she's all squeaky clean! ha

One small step

One small step. That's what Caroline did last night for the first time unassisted. My 10 1/2 month old has decided she wants to try walking. She's been standing up on her own for a while but would sit down as soon as she realized she was alone. For the past few days she's been standing up alone and she seemed to be okay with that. Last night I scooted back while she was standing up and she took one little step toward me!! Then she went down and she's been crawling around ever since. I just know she'll be walking soon though!! I cannot believe how fast she has grown. Last week her cousin was over for a few minutes. She had not seen Caroline since Christmas, meaning she had also never seen Caroline crawl or stand on her own!! Hopefully it won't be another four months before they see each other again because Caroline will be running all over the place by then. Yikes!!!

I've got several blog posts to get up so check back later tonight or tomorrow. We've been busy around here!
