PDO so far

This will be C's 3rd week of school and so far she is loving it! She did cry last week when they came to get her out of the car in the morning but they told me that she only cried for a minute or two. They send home daily reports and they wrote an extra note on C's for the first day - "AWESOME Day!" Nothing makes me happier than knowing my little girl had a good day.

She got to paint with her foot.

Here are the cute bags they made.

I know that she is really enjoying herself and she seems so comfortable with her teachers. I cannot wait to see all the cute artwork that they'll be making this year!

Very Hungry Caterpillar

The very hungry caterpillar came to visit us yesterday. It's not too exciting, but I haven't seen a caterpillar that big so it was pretty neat to me. Caroline was pretty intrigued as well. If I ask her "where is the caterpillar?" then she'll go to the back door at point at it!

Rescue Mission

What an adventure we've had this morning!! Daisy decided that she wanted to go exploring. She started walking down the hill at the edge of our property and somehow fell off the rock retaining wall that starts our neighbor's propery. She landed in their fenced in (and locked!) yard. I couldn't get her out and no one was home to let her out. Poor girl was yelping and crying. Only one thing to do...I had to go down the hill after her! Miraculously Daisy managed to get herself over the wall (I still don't know how short legged Daisy jumped that high) but she'd hurt her leg on the fall down so she couldn't get up the rest of the hill. I could get far enough down to grab her and bring her back up. We knew we were not going to be in this house for very long so we decided not to invest in a new fence. For two and a half years we haven't needed one either. We may be looking at fences soon...

Standing at the edge of our property looking down the hill. That's the yard that Daisy landed in.

Rock Wall is roughly as high as that fence.

Safe and sound after the rescue!

First Day of PDO

Today was Caroline's first day of Parent's Day Out! We have been so excited for this to start. She's only going to be going 1 day a week but maybe in the spring she'll be able to go 2 days.

I found the cutest little backpack and lunchbox for her. They make them bags which will be ready soon so she'll only be bringing the backpack to school for little while.

Everything has be labeled!

I made a sign for her to hold.

But the door mat was way more interesting...

At least she did like her backpack.

Quick picture with Daddy before he left for work!

I can't wait to see how she does! We had the option of walking them in on the first day or going through the car pool line. Since she'll have to go through the car pool line every other time, I opted to do that. I figured she wouldn't get as upset. When they came to get her out of the car, she didn't even cry! What a big girl!! She's been gone for 2 hours so far and I've vacuumed the rugs, swept the floor, did all the dishes, started a load of laundry, did 2 blog entries, watered the plants, and went through C's fall and winter clothes. I think I'm really going to like PDO...

15 Month Stats

Last week Caroline had her 15 month checkup. She's growing like a little weed! She's 22 lb (25th percentile), 33 1/2 inches tall (95th percentile) and has a head circumference of 17 3/4 inches (50th percentile). Devlopmentally she's doing great as well. She's doing lots of things on time (walking, pointing, stacking blocks, following simple commands) and even some things early (feeding herself with a fork!). She doesn't have as many words in her vocabulary as the pediatrician wanted so we are busy working on that! She got three shots and did really well. She only cried a little and she was over it by the time we walked out the door! Such a brave little girl :)

Just some cute pictures...although she can eat with a utensil, she doesn't always want to.
