Two Month Sibling Comparison

My sweet babies, all at two months old.

Two Months Old!!!

Two Months Old - October 26, 2014

Yesterday my little boy turned two months old!!  Time is flying by with this little guy.  He went for his two month well visit today so I waited to do this post...two months old and I am already slacking.  Third child problems...

He is growing like a weed.  As of today, he weighed 10 lb. 2 oz. (5-10%), was 22 1/2 inches long (25%) and his head was 14 1/2 (5%).  Dr. Wilson was very pleased with his growth.  He got three shots and one oral vaccine today and took them all like a champ.  He cried for all of two seconds and then was totally over it.  He is officially in size 0-3 month clothes.  He wore his last newborn sized sleeper last week and it was a tight squeeze!  He is in size one diapers, he moved up shortly after one month.  He eats about 3 oz. at each feeding every 2-3 hours in the day with at least one 4 hour stretch and he makes a 5 hour stretch at night.  I am exclusively pumping, which is pretty miserable for me but I am going to keep doing it for now since he is doing so well as far as growth.

This has been the best and worst month all at the same time.  He has started smiling (7 weeks, 1 day) and cooing and it's just precious. Unfortunately, he has had some colic and it's been rough.  He has periods of uncontrollable crying, especially in the evening.  We have tried a million different things...gas drops, probiotic drops, driving in the car, bouncer, swing, swaying, walking, swaddling, unswaddling, holding him, laying him down, and the list goes on.  It's so sad and so exhausting so I am hoping that he outgrows it soon.  He was my easiest pregnancy by far, but my hardest baby. The smiles and coos came at the perfect time though, right when we both really needed a little smile.

He really likes bath time, his swing, watching his sisters, and his boppy lounger.  He isn't a huge fan of the bouncer.  He loves to be held - all the time.  At night he sleeps best when we swaddle him and he has just started to occasionally take a paci.  I wasn't going to give him one, but we had to try it when the colic started.  I was desperate for something.  He doesn't always like it, but every now and then it's been a big help.

Happy two months, Harrison!!  Even though you cry a lot we still love you so much!  You are such a sweet little guy and we simply adore you.  I cannot wait to watch your little personality develop over the next several months (and years).  I love you!

A Perfect Fall Weekend!

This past weekend was simply perfect!  It was a great way to have some fall fun.  On Friday evening, we went to our neighborhood Halloween party.  The kids dressed up and had a blast playing with all the other kids and the grown ups got a rare moment to visit with each other.  When we bought our house this summer, we felt a little pressure (or a lot) to find a house.  We were having a third baby and needed to find something fast.  We finally found this house.  It had most of what we were looking for, but not everything.  There were some updates made, but still plenty to do.  We knew this house wasn't the "forever" house so it didn't have to be perfect, but we wanted to be comfortable since we will be in the house for a while.  We liked the area and the space so we went for it.  I can say, without a doubt, it was the best decision ever.  We live in the best neighborhood!!  The people are so fun and nice!  We have enjoyed getting to know these people and are so thankful that there are so many kids in the area (seriously...there are a ton of little kids!!).

On Saturday morning, the girls besties Sydney and Brooklyn came to play for a couple of hours.  To say our girls were thrilled would be an understatement.  After lunch, our little family of five went to Old Baker Farm pumpkin patch.  This is our fifth year to go and I must say, it is my favorite thing we do during the fall.  They had a blast!!  After a fun filled day, we came home to watch the Alabama game - and they won so we were happy!

On Sunday, Caroline sang in the traditional service with the choir.  She was precious!  I cannot believe how big she is.  After church we had her soccer game (see last post) where she scored TWO goals!!!  We quickly loaded up the car and went to the Wise's farm for a pumpkin patch with our friends.  We all loved getting to spend time with our favorite people in the world.  We truly do have the best friends ever!

Here are some pictures from our fantastic fall weekend!  They are all iPhone pics.

Getting ready for the neighborhood party.  Anna and Elsa were ready to go!

Harrison was there too.

Soccer Star

Caroline has been playing Sunday Soccer through BUSA this year and has just loved it!  The games started in mid-September and next weekend, November 2, is her last game for the season.  She has been scoring goals in a lot of the games - 2 goals in this last game!!  She also gets to play at Brookwood Forest Elementary School, where she will attend school next fall for kindergarten!  We are so proud of our little soccer star!

Now that soccer is coming to an end, she has started gymnastics.  Pics of that to come soon!!

One Month Sibling Comparison

Here are pictures of each baby at one month old.  I did a different format with Caroline than I did the other two, but that's okay.

They each have different looks, although Harrison and Ann Parker look more alike in real life than in these pictures, where Harrison looks a lot more like Caroline.  Also, notice how much bigger Harrison is compared to Ann Parker.  It's easy to tell size difference when they are in the same chair by the same stuffed animal.

I love these sweet babies!!!

TCDC Trike-a-thon

Yesterday Caroline's school had the St. Jude Trike-a-Thon.  It was scheduled to be outside, but since it stormed the night before and was supposed to rain during the day, they moved it inside.  It turned out to be so fun inside!!  Caroline had such a fun time and I loved getting to see her around her friends.

One Month Old!

One Month Old - September 26, 2014

Wow!  It's hard to believe that one month has passed since this precious baby boy entered the world.  What a month it has been!!  He has grown and changed so much in this past month and it already seems like his birth was a lifetime ago.  He just fits so well into our family and he is the perfect addition!!

Sleep: During the day he does great!  He takes several long naps and has short little periods where he is awake and alert.  During the night...not so good.  He takes so long to eat, then needs a new diaper, and then I have to pump (not his fault) that I am up for about 2 1/2 hours during the night.  Luckily, he is only getting up once in the night or else I would be insane.

Eating:  He eats about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 oz.every couple of hours during the day, with a few 3-4 hour stretches here and there and a 4 stretch at night.  At his two week appointment he weighed in at 6 lb. 8 oz. - almost a pound since his one week appointment!!  Because of that, we didn't have to go in for a one month check up and we won't go back until two months.  He is a great eater with very little spit up and I am so thankful!

Size:  He is wearing size newborn diaper but he will be in a one very soon.  He wears all newborn clothes but they are starting to get snug so we will be moving up on those soon too.  He is filling out and growing much faster than his sisters did.  I think he may be a big boy!

Likes/Dislikes: He likes to be held, especially when he gets to curl up on my chest.  He likes his rock n play sleeper and the boppy newborn lounger.  He tolerates his swing, the bath, and the car seat.  He doesn't really care for the bouncer, diaper changes, clothing changes, or being hungry.

Personality: He has a very laid back personality, which I think is typical of third children.  He sleeps where ever he can and through whatever noise there is.

Big Moments: He is strong!!  He has been working on holding his head up a lot lately.  Also...at three weeks old he ROLLED OVER!!  And it wasn't an accident.  He decided he hated tummy time so he pulled his legs in and just rolled over.  I thought it was a fluke so I kept putting him in the position I knew he didn't like and he kept on rolling over.

Sisters: The girls are totally obsessed with him and it melts my heart.  Both big sisters constantly tell him how cute he is and how much they love him.  I am so happy that they love him!

Happy one month birthday baby Harrison!!  What a wonderful and precious little boy you are!  This has been such a hard month, but also such an amazing month.  I wish I could stop time right in it's tracks and keep you this tiny forever.  You are the sweetest and easiest baby!  I love you with all my heart my sweet son.  Love, Mommy
