Last Day of PDO

Today was Caroline's last day of PDO - forever.  She will start 3K preschool at Trinity's Child Development Center in the fall.  It will be the same amount days and for the same time, but it just seems so much OLDER. I am in denial that my precious little toddler grew up into a preschooler!!  Yikes!

We got up this morning and got dressed and took the obligatory last day pictures.  She was not into taking pictures and I don't think I got anything great...but here they are.

Her class got a joint gift for the two teachers, but we wanted to send an extra little "happy."  Caroline helped me make some brownies, we got little African violets, and C painted a card and I wrote a note.  The card says, "Thank you for being so sweet and helping me grow!"  I thought I was so clever until I dropped the gifts off...there were probably 10 plants/flowers with notes that said "thank you for helping me grow."  I've got to step in up next year ;)

I did not go in to say good bye to the teachers.  First of all, parents were not invited to the party today so I would have to make a special trip up there when they are right in the middle of carpool.  Second of all, I thought I would get emotional.  As soon as Ms. Marcia put C in the car, she kissed her forehead and said, "I love you.  Have fun in your new class!"  When started to drive away and C asked me, "Is today my last day?"  When I said yes, she started to cry and said, "I don't want new teachers!!"  By this time I was crying...and I continued to cry for the next half hour.  Glad I didn't go in to say good bye...I would have been a wreck.  Between the note I wrote and the email I sent, I think they know how much we love them.  Ms. Marcia and Ms. Barbara have been amazing for Caroline.  She truly loves them like family and I am so sad to leave them.  Hopefully AP will be in their class when she gets to the 2's.

Next year Caroline will be in a different part of the building.  I am so sad to see her PDO days end.  I am excited to start at the beginning with Ann Parker and to see Caroline grow in TCDC!  My sweet Caroline is growing up and I wish I could freeze time.

Here is C on her first day of school this year (September 2012)

And here she is on her first day of PDO in the toddler class (September 2011)

Summer Days

We have been enjoying the bright, sunny days!  We spend most of our days outside - either in our backyard or at a park somewhere.  Earlier this week we had a lovely afternoon hanging out in our backyard.  I am loving these days at home with my girls.

C explaining to AP that these are "hers"

AP wins...this was a birthday gift from a friend.

Loving the new sandbox....although it needs about 200 lb more of sand

Our yard isn't fenced...but this dog knows life is too good here to run off.

Sweet Sisters

I have so many adorable matching outfits for my sweet girls.  I love matching them.  Adam thinks I am nuts.  Lately, if we are leaving the house, they usually match.  I always intend to take pictures, but about 2 minutes after getting dressed one or both of them has spilled something on them.  I was very pleased one morning when they stayed (relatively) clean and randomly sat down in the same chair...I never ran so fast as I did to grab my camera.

Graduation Day!!

Last Tuesday my sister graduated from Auburn Pharmacy School.  We are so proud of her!!  Both girls were quite loud during the ceremony so we went and played in the lobby, came in to watch her walk, and then went back to the lobby.  What a great day!

Going Private

I started blogging as way to keep up with our day to day life - an ongoing scrapbook.  I have stuff saved for baby books, but those don't tell the "whole story."  I guess blogs don't either since I choose what to include and leave out.  All these little moments that I blog about probably are of little interest to anyone but my family and me (and friends and some very nice blog stackers)...so it's always strange when I see I had a visitor from strange places.  Not sure what people from Japan, Argentina, Libya, and countless other countries are doing here.  It's kind of strange.  Also, I noticed that I keep getting a visitor from a small town...I only know one person in that town and she doesn't like me - so why does she want to read my blog?  All that to say, as much as I love that new people find their way here and enjoy seeing my beautiful kids and sweet husband, I feel like I need to protect our privacy.  As my kids get older, less and less of their stories will be mine to tell.  My pregnancies and my experience raising young kids are okay to share, but soon those young kids will be school aged with their own experiences, problems, etc. and it's not fair for them to worry that their lives will pop up on the Internet for all to see, even though my intentions wouldn't be to embarrass.

Within the next several weeks, I will make the blog private.  I will get all your email addresses closer to time, just wanted to give a heads up! I am a big fan of blog stalking, so please don't feel like you can't ask to keep reading!
