Fun at the Zoo

Last Thursday we met our friends Sarah and Sydney at the Zoo for some fun before nap time. We had a blast!!

Sydney wanted to hold hands but Caroline just wanted to eat the stroller.

We saw lots of fun animals. The monkeys were a big hit with the girls. They were jumping and moving around and that's pretty exciting for 9 and 10 month olds!

I can't believe how close we were to a lion!!

We also saw an anteater. It was one of the strangest looking things we have seen! Caroline wasn't too impressed.

Caroline the giraffe.

Tongue out for good measure.

We had such a wonderful time with our wonderful friends!! I'm sure we'll be back at the zoo soon.

Bath Time

Caroline loves taking baths but apparently doesn't like getting her face wet. She is still getting baths in the sink but now that she has learned to splash she may be moving to the big bath soon. I gave her one bath in our big tub and she cried the whole time! We have a jacuzzi tub so I didn't know if she was scared of the jets or if she didn't like being so low down. We'll get there I'm sure but for now here are some cute pics of my baby in the bath.

Beautiful Day

We have just been loving this beautiful weather! Caroline loves being outside, but she isn't a huge fan of the grass. Good thing we've got plenty of blankets!!

The big empty spot is where mommy and her magazines rested :)

We grabbed a basket of toys and Caroline played her heart out.

Daisy loved it too.

We've been working on "mama" "dada" and "Caroline." We make her pat herself when we say "Where's Caroline?" Sometimes she'll randomly pat herself and it's always on her neck.

She's a fan of a good book

Yay for beautiful days!!

I should have known...

...That it was a little too quiet. I was doing dishes the other night and Caroline was playing with her music table. It got very quiet but everytime I looked at her she was just sitting by me and would give me the most angelic stare. Sure enough when I looked away she was getting into something.

I'm not too sure what it is or where it came from. All I know is that we had a great time scrubbing off C's new mustache!

On the mend

Caroline is feeling so much better!! She's finally over her ear infection. She's still taking antibiotics, but she's back to her normal self! Thankfully she hasn't had any ear infections prior to this because it was miserable!! Poor thing just wanted to be held all the time. Sweet and adorable, yes. Productive and comfortable, not so much. For a couple of days I couldn't get anything done around the house. Showering was even proving to be difficult. She woke up several times during the night, usually from coughing so much. It was no fun and we're glad she's back to normal!!

She went from this sick baby...

to this happy girl!!

Our fingers are crossed that ear infections will stay away from this house...

A Day in the Park

The weather has been so nice lately and we just love it!! Adam and I got to take her to the park last weekend for some fun on the swings.

While the swings were so much fun, we were more excited that Adam got to come with us! He's had to work so much lately and he's even been working on the weekends :( It was so nice to spend the day together.

I know that we'll be taking her to the park a bunch this spring and summer and I can't wait!

After we went to the park we took her to get some frozen yogurt. She kept making this disgusted face after each bite but would go back for more!! It was too funny.

First Word!!!

Okay, okay...so Caroline didn't say a "real" word, but she did say her first recognition word. We have been working on "mama" and "dada" with her since practically birth. I couldn't wait for the day that she looked up at me and clearly and happily said "mama." She started making the m sound and the d sound right about the same time. Not that it was a competition, but I totally wanted her to say my name first. Last week our little girl finally said.............

"Day Day" as in "Daisy." Yes, the dog beat out mama and dada. I thought it was a fluke at first but she says everytime she sees Daisy. She'll even wave and say something that sounds a lot like "Hey Day Day." It makes sense since I'm saying "Caroline, don't pull Daisy's ears" or "Daisy, stop licking your sister" all day long. I cannot keep those two apart!! Adam and I love Daisy like a child (it's almost awkward and probably unhealthy) so we are so excited that Caroline loves Daisy too and so proud that "Day Day" is her first word!!

How could you not love that beautiful face???
