Nursery News

The nursery is just about done. We have a few things to get and a few last minute projects to do, but the main stuff is all done!! It really looks perfect in there. All it needs is a sweet baby girl!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there (and especially my sweet mama)!! I had my first "almost a mother's day" today and it was amazing! Adam was so sweet and got me a present - a new fun diaper bag to use once Caroline gets here. He got me a bag by Skip Hop, which is company that makes products for kids and parents that I just love!!



I saw the bag at Swaddle in Homewood several weeks ago and just fell in love but decided not to spend the money on it. I was shocked that Adam remembered which one it was but super excited that he did!! Thanks Adam!

We also went to BSC for a picnic this afternoon. I bought a picnic basket a few months ago and I just wanted to use it so bad! The weather was beautiful - it was just the perfect day!! Adam and I graduated four years ago and everything looks so different on campus - new lake, new dorms and lots of construction!! It's strange to see the campus like this. Part of it feels so unfamiliar and then part of it still feels like home... I cannot believe that we've been out of school for as long as we were in school!! Time flies!

Anyway, I had a wonderful day and hope all the other mom's (and other soon to be mom's) did too!!

Tired and Ready

Tomorrow I will be 34 weeks pregnant - just 6 weeks until due date. I don't think she'll make it until then, but we'll try :) At this point, I am just tired and ready!! It's hard to get comfortable so I can't sleep at night. My feet often swell to double their size. It's not too pretty. Friday night we ended up in the hospital again. I was having contractions that were 8 minutes apart. We decided to call the on call doctor and see what she wanted me to do. I was told to eat something and drink plenty of water and rest for 30 minutes and then call back. Nothing helped so off we went. I had a few strong contractions that were 3 minutes apart once I was hooked up to the monitors. They gave me a shot of terbutaline to stop the contractions. It was nice to not have any contractions...but the medicine made me feel awful!! Finally at 2 AM they let me leave and get some sleep in my own bed. I know she'll come when she is ready and I know that 34 weeks is a little too early...but I'm just ready for this little girl to get here!! No pictures for tonight...but I will have nursery pictures in the next couple of days!!! It's just about done - and it's sooo cute!

My new favorite thing for Caroline

Ever since we found out that we are having a little girl, I've gone a little crazy with cutesy girl stuff. The clothes are just adorable!!! The newest thing that I feel Caroline MUST have are flower headbands. I feel like she'll need one in every color.

My Daisy is back!!

Daisy is feeling like her old self again - THANK GOODNESS!! After her trip to the doggy ER, we had to go back to her regular vet to make sure that everything looked okay. He put her on some different medication and now, almost two weeks later, she's regular Daisy again! I truly believe that she hurt her back trying to get a treat. She's been doing this new jump and twist maneuver to try to get treats and I think that's how she did it!! I'm just so glad to have her back!

Baby Shower!!

Yesterday Adam and I had our first baby shower!! It was so much fun. Both guys and girls came - it was laid back and perfect. I'm so glad that so many of our friends got to come a celebrate Caroline's pending arrival (although I did miss all our friends who couldn't be there!!). Here is a picture of me with the beautiful hostesses.




Adam and I happen to have the greatest and most generous friends in whole world. We got some really great stuff!! I couldn't take pictures of everything - but trust me when I say that I LOVE everything! Caroline got some wonderful books, clothes, toys and things for her nursery. She's one super lucky little lady!!

Here's a sweet little Sleep Sheep that hangs on the crib to help her fall asleep.


Our friend Kelly gave us (among other things) a little basket that she painted to match Caroline's bedding. It looks perfect in her room!!!



It was the best baby shower ever!! Thank you everyone!!
